Abraham
Father of many nations
The man who left everything on God's promise and became the father of Israel's faith.
God called Abraham to leave his homeland for a land he had never seen, on the promise that he would become a great nation. He believed, and it was counted to him for righteousness.
Though he and Sarah were old and childless, God gave them a son, Isaac. Abraham's faith was tested when God asked him to offer Isaac, and God provided a substitute. He is remembered as the father of faith.
“And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.”Genesis 15:6
