Mary

The mother of Jesus

A young woman of Nazareth who said yes to God and became the mother of Jesus.

Mary was a young woman in Nazareth, engaged to Joseph, when the angel Gabriel told her she would bear the Son of God. She answered simply, be it unto me according to thy word.

She gave birth to Jesus in Bethlehem, raised him, and remained faithful to him all the way to the foot of the cross.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.Luke 1:38
